| PHYSICAL THERAPIST | |||

The Physical Therapist provides skilled services, that include the preservation, enhancement, or restoration of movement and physical function impaired or threatened by disability, injury, or disease that utilizes therapeutic exercise, physical modalities, assistive devices, and patient education and training to meet physical therapy goals of the patient, family and team members. The Physical Therapy Assistant, under the supervision of a Licensed Therapist, may implement evidenced based treatment under a plan of care that is established by a Physical Therapist with the goal of restoring mobility and motion. The physical therapy assistant is responsible for cooperation and communication with inter and intra departmental staff, patients and families while addressing the age appropriate needs of the population served. You must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program. You must be eligible to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant, according to the District of Columbia guidelines. The Occupational Therapist plans and conducts individualized occupational therapy programs to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform activities of daily living at one of our many facilities (long term care, long term acute care, skilled nursing facilities). The therapist must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory-perceptual, and other aspects of performance.
